This model replaces the linear one, in which products are manufactured from raw materials and then discarded at the end of their useful lives. In the circular economy model, the products, or part of them, are reused, repaired and recycled.

This type of economy aims to rebuild capital, whether financial, industrial, human, social or natural. Therefore, it allows greater efficiency in the management of natural resources and maximizes the well-being of the whole society.

The steel industry is one of the sectors that contributes to the transition from linear to circular economy due to the infinite recyclability and durability properties of steel, allowing it to be recycled, reused and remanufactured
