R&D Advancements

Our goal is to be the global supplier of choice in special steels for automotive and other safety critical applications in the heavy truck, agricultural and construction equipment, oil and gas, and energy markets. Each year we invest millions of dollars in new product development so we can provide our customers with the best solutions for their needs.

Main research efforts involve key areas of steel production, from liquid steel stage through the final product evaluation. Research and development teams specialize in unique chemistries that are designed for the toughest customized applications, including clean steels for gears, bearings and shafts.

Our R&D teams also work closely with the mills on process innovation and improvement. Studies are developed in computer fluid modelling, automated scanning electronic microscopes and immersion ultrasonic testing with low and high frequencies.
